About me

My art process & evolution

Pastel

I won’t show the very first drawings I did, which was mainly incomprehensible cartoons and of course anime like Naruto. But I would say my first ''serious'' drawings started in 2009 when I attended drawing lessons. I tried different techniques, but realistic portraits in Charcoal and Pastel turned out to be my favorite.

The teacher didn't interfere much and let me practice on my own. I never learned a special technique .

Charcoal Portraits

So when I was about 14, I draw a lot and had my first feedback from my family and friends, saying I was really good. That was, of course, very rewarding.

So around 2010, I focused on celebrities portraits to improve on face proportions.

In 2012, after I finished school, I decided to try one year at University and study art.

Polychromos Portraits

I was in the city of Rennes, and I must say, I learned a lot about Art history, but I didn't improve that much on my drawing skills. It was my first year at University and didn't really reflect on my potential future in art.

Although I stopped studying Arts and didn't take any lessons, I continued drawing.

After a long black and white period, in 2014, I started making colored portraits.

During my various job experiences, I always manage to use my drawing skills.

While working in an animal shelter, I designed 2 illustrations to help the Association raising funds.

I also created illustrations for a colleague to promote her Sophrology classes.

While experiencing my first paid art work, I also continued experiencing new techniques.

As to paint, I started with acrylics.

I was always more comfortable with charcoal and pastel for portraits, but for landscapes, paint was my first choice.

Acrylic Paintings

In 2020, I went to Germany and there, I had a great creative time. Outside of work, but also at work, where I had a great project of making a collection of famous personalities in the World of Dance.

After a break in France at the end of 2021, I returned to Germany in 2022, where as in 2020, I had a huge creative urge. Having a room with no natural light didn't make the creative process any easier. But I was lucky enough to be able to take part in free training courses at work.

I decided to try first some oil Painting courses, which I tried only once a long time ago.

Oil Paintings

And that's how we arrive at my meeting with Watercolor painting.

I did a 4 days training course in Berlin and I really felt in love with this technique. I never did watercolor before, and it was a very natural feeling.

It's been only one year but I never felt so addicted to paint.

It's the first time, I feel free in my creation. I was always very concerned about the process and the final result. Even if I always loved drawing, watercolor was a way to finally let go and to express all my creativity. I never enjoyed painting as much as I do now.

So you will see the evolution of my watercolor paintings (from my first in June 2022 until now).

It's the first time I've felt proud and legitimate, so now I'm ready to share and sell my watercolours!
